We are on Apple devices and use HomeKit. Will a smart lock integrate, and does it need anything extra?
Many do, but support varies by model, so check the specific product. Some locks list Apple Home (HomeKit) or Apple Home Key, Google Home and Amazon Alexa compatibility; a few need a hub or bridge for full integration, and voice unlocking often requires a PIN for security. If you are committed to one ecosystem, filter for that badge specifically rather than assuming — “works with Alexa” does not always mean “works with HomeKit”.
